Death is Just a Temporary Separation

I gave a lesson in Young Womens today about "How can I find comfort when someone I care about dies?" Recently, a girl that cheered with me, Sadie Wells died on her mission in a car crash. I was so confused. Why her? She is amazing and has so many good things going for her. But, through learning more about our plan, I have been comforted and now have many reasons to be happy.
At her funeral, Elder Bednar spoke and did an AMAZING job. He said you guys are probably wondering why that had to happen and all I can say is that, "I don't know why but, I do know that the Lord knows and that is all we need to know." He also said that, "The only way to take sadness out of death is to take love out of life." Even though it is sad and hard, death is just a temporary separation and we should be rejoicing that she made it. I also loved how he talked about how it was her new field of labor, a transfer to keep serving the Lord but, in a different way then people expected.
I love thinking of the word smile as...
Spiritually
Minded
Life
Eternal
Imagine a long string that goes on and on and on. If you were to tie a knot in the middle of the string, it represents our life on earth. It is such a small part of our eternal life. I also compare our plan to hand sewing. When you hand stitch something, it looks really ugly on the bottom with weird knots and ties all over. But on the front, it has a beautiful picture. Heavenly Father can see the top. Trust in him no matter how confusing your life may seem. You are important and have a important purpose on earth.

I am grateful that I have the knowledge of the Plan of Salvation and that I can live with my Heavenly Father again and be with my family forever.

The Greatest Love Letter

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!!!!

Every day as we are leaving seminary, my teacher says "Read the love letter" as time went on, I have thought about this love letter which is the scriptures. It is truly the greatest love letter you can ever read. It is true teachings about the love our Heavenly Father has for us because he sent his son to die for us and the love Christ has for us as he has selflessly died so we can live again. I love my Savior and I am so grateful that I have the book of mormon so I can learn more about the love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ has for me. Always remember that if you are ever feeling alone or unloved, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love you with an unspeakable love.
Have a wonderful valentines day!

Scripture Study Tips

Do you ever have those nights where you just skim through your scriptures and don't get much from your study?
Do you ever have those days where you just don't understand what you are reading?
I have those days all the time. I found Elder David A. Bednar's talk called "Because We Have Them before Our Eyes" where he talks about 5 different ways you can learn more about the savior through scripture study. It has helped me and I hope it helps you too.

1. Pray for understanding, and invite the help of the Holy Ghost
2. Work
3. Be consistent
4. Ponder
5. Write down impressions, thoughts and feelings

He goes in description with every one. If you have time, go check out the rest of the talk

"I Love to See the Temple, I'm Going There Someday"

Recently, I was able to go to my cousins wedding in St. George. As I looked at the temple, I felt so much love and peace. Ever since I was little, I have made it a goal to get married in the temple. It was amazing to see my cousin and his wife come out so happy and it made me so grateful that we all can have the chance to go into the temple one day if we are worthy. It also helped me want to work even harder for that goal because of the joy that it brings. I also love doing baptisms at the temple and I always feel comforted when I am there. The blessings that come from going to the temple are amazing.

My friend Aubrey Toone also has put songs on i-tunes and spotify that are so uplifting too.
