Death is Just a Temporary Separation

I gave a lesson in Young Womens today about "How can I find comfort when someone I care about dies?" Recently, a girl that cheered with me, Sadie Wells died on her mission in a car crash. I was so confused. Why her? She is amazing and has so many good things going for her. But, through learning more about our plan, I have been comforted and now have many reasons to be happy.
At her funeral, Elder Bednar spoke and did an AMAZING job. He said you guys are probably wondering why that had to happen and all I can say is that, "I don't know why but, I do know that the Lord knows and that is all we need to know." He also said that, "The only way to take sadness out of death is to take love out of life." Even though it is sad and hard, death is just a temporary separation and we should be rejoicing that she made it. I also loved how he talked about how it was her new field of labor, a transfer to keep serving the Lord but, in a different way then people expected.
I love thinking of the word smile as...
Spiritually
Minded
Life
Eternal
Imagine a long string that goes on and on and on. If you were to tie a knot in the middle of the string, it represents our life on earth. It is such a small part of our eternal life. I also compare our plan to hand sewing. When you hand stitch something, it looks really ugly on the bottom with weird knots and ties all over. But on the front, it has a beautiful picture. Heavenly Father can see the top. Trust in him no matter how confusing your life may seem. You are important and have a important purpose on earth.

I am grateful that I have the knowledge of the Plan of Salvation and that I can live with my Heavenly Father again and be with my family forever.

  1. I never knew Sadie but it broke my heart to learn of her death. It is hard to understand and I don't think Heavenly Father expects us to. He just expects us to believe and have faith. What lovely words. I just read your other blog posts to and I love your thoughts and feelings you share. They're all so beautiful :) And lovely job on your cousin's wedding video!! Its seriously amazing and looks so professional. You're so talented :)
