Controlling the Scrolling

Sometimes I get into this awful comparison mood. I am scrolling through Instagram thinking, "I wish I looked like her" "I wish I had a better style" "I wish....." it keeps going on and I HATE it!! Why do I get myself into these moods? It only causes me unhappiness. I realized that I need to control the way I am scrolling because I wasn't going to put myself down anymore. It took some sole searching and I want to share to help other girls realize how wonderful, beautiful, and talented, they are. Social media can be a great thing and can also ruin the way you feel about yourself and your self worth is so important!  Here are 3 (because 3 is just my lucky number) reasons to help CONTROL YOUR SCROLL.

1. We are all different!!

Social media mostly shows peoples best days/moments. That is why it is crucial to not even compare yourself to everyones best self. Comparison can kill your self esteem. It is like comparing your worst self to someones best self. It isn't even realistic. That's why I always wonder how or why I get into this put myself down mode.

2. Why wish to be someone else when you can be yourself.

Think about things you have that make you the person you are. There is so much you can find to be grateful for. Don't try to be someone you aren't. That will only make you more unhappy. Be YOURSELF!! The best YOU you can be!!

3. Be happy for others.

When someone posts something great, celebrate it with them. Tell them how amazing they are. See the good in others. When you do that, it will help you see the good in yourself. It will also help you celebrate your successes when you get them instead of playing the comparison game.

One podcast I loved was from Munchin with Mogals where they interviewed Hailey Devine. It's called "Overlooking Others Highlight Reels To Embrace Your Self Worth" you should definitely check it out!!

So let's all love ourself and love others because the only result from comparing is your own unhappiness.
