"I read something that really hit me this week in Mormon 9:5. It talks about how great the glory of God is and how pure he is. I then realized how pure we really need to be in order to enter His presence. we must do all we can to keep ourselves clean. but even if we do all we can, we still cant be as clean as we need to be. the atonement is essential. I hope we can all learn about the atonement and have experiences where we can feel its power." ~ Elder Ryan

My 1st Grade Friends
Throughout
this internship, I have learned many wonderful things. I have learned a lot
about how each and every child learns differently. I also have learned to never
chose favorites and love each student equally even though it may be hard. There
are many students in the class I have interned in that make it really hard for
the rest of the class and the teacher. My job has been to help these students
catch up and feel like they are smart so they can keep working hard. Doing this
has helped me learn about patience and learning more about caring for the
students. It can be really hard but it’s worth it when you see the student
learning and growing.
My favorite thing is whenever I walk
into the classroom they all say my name and wave. Feeling that love from a
little kid is amazing. I also have loved playing with them at recess and
getting to know about their lives. They all have so many stories and love to
tell people about things that they are doing. They tell me about each of their
family members, pets, and so much more. I also love the innocence of a child.
They are so caring and loving and I think I get more hugs then I deserve. They
also are always holding my hand and fighting for who gets to hold “Ms.
Kallie’s” hand. I also have loved helping them with math and English. They love
it. As they learn, their eyes light up when they figure out a question. It
takes a lot of hard work and patience to get kids to understand things
sometimes but once they get it, it’s the best feeling in the world. I have also
had the opportunity to pull out some peoples teeth. That’s one thing I didn’t
think I would be doing in my internship but surprisingly enough losing teeth is
a big thing at the elementary school. The classroom even has a tooth chart!
After they lose their tooth, the office gives them a little treasure box to put
it in.
I also love going to art with them.
They love showing off their work. It has taught me to be proud of things you do
and not be ashamed of it. I also love the confidence they have in themselves.
They don’t care how each other look. All they care about is how the person is
on the inside. I also have loved watching the teacher teach. You can really
tell that she loves what she is doing. She has a big grin on her face as she
teaches and it makes the students love learning also.
This
internship has made me want to be a teacher and has helped me absolutely love
it. It has made me want to work with kids more and learn more about them.
Teaching has also made me not worry as much and just be happier.

New Year New You
Happy New Year's everyone!!!!! I can't wait for this new year 2016!
I have been thinking about my New Years resolutions and watched an amazing video and have learned some things that have helped me with making new goals.
Tips for Making New Year's Resolutions
- Always find something that keeps you progressing. True happiness comes from progress
- Don't say should. Say must. example: (I should eat healthier or I should start working hard on my homework) instead change it to, (I must change the way I eat or I must start re-arranging my schedule so I can find more time to do homework)
- Set one thing in each of these areas to work on
- Physical
- Emotional
- Educational
- Social
- Spiritual
- Progress (talents)
- Don't make too many goals that will be too hard to accomplish
- Get excited about what you are going to accomplish this year
- Push or will power won't last very long but pull will
Also here is a cheezy video I made to remind me that life should be fun and to be excited about this year and the things coming up.
21 Days Closer To Christ
My first year of Young Womens, we received a 21 days closer to Christ book for christmas time and I have read it every year since. I cannot wait to pull it out and gain a stronger testimony every christmas time and I have learned so much. This year, I told my young women's president about how it has helped me and they made a new one so now I have two amazing books to read from. Here are some amazing lessons I have learned as I have read these leaders experiences and have used those experiences to gain a stronger relationship with Christ and a testimony of him. In the book it has a talk or an experience from that day and some questions and something you can do to be better. Here are some things that I found in the book that help you act today to become more like Christ.
Ways to Become Closer to Christ
- Make a list of a couple of things that will help you better cling to the word of God and feel his light
- Try to make it a habit to PRAY daily and make your prayers more meaningful
- Set a goal every morning to do your best not only for yourself but for the savior
- Find gratitude in Christ throughout your day and act as if he is right next to you
- Take time to recognize the Savior's grace in every aspect of your life
- Do one thing better every day to help you remember Christ
- Find a few moments to "be still"
- Keep a picture of the temple somewhere close by so you can always see it
- Pick one way you can seek Christ better
- Turn outward in love, compassion, and service when life becomes intolerable
I know this list seems pretty intimidating but, I challenge you just to take one or two and write them down and think of them and I promise you will come closer to Christ.
I have taken the goal to recognize the Savior's grace and write things down that I have recognized and its amazing to see all that he does for me when I look out and recognize it. I also now have a picture of the temple as my screen saver to help remind me of my goal.
